Uncomplicated, simple, enjoyable, engaging, heartwarming and just plain likable, with moments of true beauty.

This is a clear attempt at a new franchise and is fun enough that it just might succeed.

It is certainly not a terrible experience. Still, it is hard to recommend it when Pixar has done so much better, so many times.

While it obviously doesn’t have the novelty of the original, it builds on its gorgeous world in clever and creative ways.

Though thematically darker than the famous Disney version, it is an inspiring family adventure that del Toro has certainly made his own.

While it is difficult to believe that people were clamoring for a Buzz Lightyear origin story, the one we’ve gotten is actually pretty good.

The resulting story is a strange mix of fantasy/action/romance, with good action and spectacular visuals that cover for its flaws.

Turning Red may not quite be top shelf Pixar, but it is a pretty good example of what they do better than everybody else.

The animation never becomes a distraction or softens this harrowing tale. The result feels like the perfect way to tell this moving tale.

By the end, it was a little much; still, seeing the Looney Tunes doing their thing again almost made the onslaught of Warner IP worth it.
