It is an idea without visual magic or real character motivation to propel it forward.

Arthur the King pushes all the manipulative buttons. I would’ve been really annoyed with it if it didn’t charm me.

Instead of being the lazy fan-service I feared, it is a legitimately entertaining family-friendly adventure.

This is a clear attempt at a new franchise and is fun enough that it just might succeed.

It is certainly not a terrible experience. Still, it is hard to recommend it when Pixar has done so much better, so many times.

The resulting story is a strange mix of fantasy/action/romance, with good action and spectacular visuals that cover for its flaws.

Like its predecessors, it feels very similar to the stories that launched this universe, unfortunately lacking their sense of magic.

By the end, it was a little much; still, seeing the Looney Tunes doing their thing again almost made the onslaught of Warner IP worth it.

While it certainly belongs on the lower end of the studio’s filmography, it is still amusing and generally enjoyable.

Tom and Jerry are supporting acts in their movie, popping in occasionally to prop up the dull humans with their usual brand of shenanigans.
