The movie loses interest whenever the monkey is out of the picture. That’s kind of an issue, yet it isn’t a big one.

From a production and filmmaking standpoint, this may very well be the best movie of the year.

This is a darkly funny, blood-soaked, absurd piece of body horror, where the danger lies in what we will do for acceptance.

While ambition can be welcome, sometimes going back to the classics feels oddly fresh. That is definitely the case here.

It is an unpredictable experience and one of the best horror movies so far this year.

None of the three movies in this trilogy may reach greatness on their own, however, this is a fantastic total package.

It is an accurate example of Blumhouse horror, with a promising high concept, energetic filmmaking, a sense of humor and suspect execution.

Overall, it is okay, with a few strong suspense scenes and, at only 82 minutes, it gets in and out efficiently.

Anything can work in this genre if the filmmakers can figure out how to inject tension into it. Here, they never did.
