There is a confidence that comes with every plot turn, like the filmmaker was sure the audience would follow him, no matter how uncomfortable things get. The result is captivating and very much a journey worth taking.

It is summer entertainment on a smaller scale and a fitting way to send us into the fall.

The story, despite a lot of subplots that feel like they should connect, doesn’t really end up going anywhere, producing a genuine “what was the point” feeling as the credits begin to roll.

There is a lot of wacky content to fit in one movie. Somehow, absolutely none of it is interesting.

Most of all, it is pretty funny, never being so silly that its themes get overwhelmed, while also never forgetting that it is a comedy centering around a ridiculous situation.

it just sits there on the screen, with no resolution, no insight, nothing to say beyond how messed up everything is. There is some good stuff here, yet it ultimately isn’t worth the trouble.

It is an enjoyable movie, entertaining and well-made. They can’t all be classics. Sometimes you just need something that is a pleasant use of an hour-and-a-half.

it is smart, charming and adult in the way the characters talk about their fears and insecurities, specifically surrounding relationships.

It is entertaining, amusing, a little cold and has an overly complicated plot. I don’t know if this is one I’d revisit very often, but it is a decent time while it lasts.

It is enjoyable, especially if you are into this style of comedy, even if it feels like there is something great about to bust out that never truly does.
